Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations in Ramban said that the traffic movement remained slow due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and other locations between Nashri and Banihal sectors.

They said traffic was being managed in a regulated manner on the 150-200 meters Mehar Cafeteria stretch of the highway in Ramban. Officials at the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Ramban said that the highway was open for two-way LMV traffic and one-way heavy vehicle traffic.

They said that subject to fair weather and better road conditions, passenger LMVs and heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on either side of the highway on Sunday. The traffic officials also advised the people to confirm the status of the road before undertaking journeys from TCUs in Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, and Ramban.

They advised passengers and LMV operators to undertake journeys on the highway during the daytime only as there were apprehensions of falling stones between the Ramban and Banihal sectors.
