Traffic officials in Ramban said National Highway remained open. However, they said traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of a few heavy vehicles, on-foot movement of nomad families with their livestock and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar, Cafeteria, Panthyal, Magarkote, Shalgari, Gangroo, Nachlana besides poor road surface conditions at many places between Nashri and Banihal.

They said earlier on Saturday night National Highway remained blocked due to road repair works.

Meanwhile, traffic authorities said subject to fair weather and good road conditions light-medium vehicles would be allowed to ply on either side whereas heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply towards Jammu from Qazigund Kashmir after assessing the road and traffic situation on National Highway, on Monday.

Traffic authorities once again advised passenger vehicle operators, and commuters not to undertake journeys on National Highway during the night hours due to apprehensions of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal sectors.
