Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remains open for 2-way traffic
Ramban, Jan 13: The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open on Monday but the movement of traffic was slow on Monday, traffic authorities said.
They said Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic movement of light, medium and heavy vehicles but traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane and poor condition of road stretch at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog and Kishtwar Pathar areas of Ramban.
Meanwhile, the traffic department issued a fresh advisory for Tuesday stating that subject to fair weather and good road conditions light medium and heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on both sides of National Highway. Traffic department advised commuters and vehicle operators not to undertake journeys on National Highway 44, without confirming the status of the road from traffic control units of Srinagar Jammu Udhampur and Ramban and check official social media accounts of J&K traffic.
The traffic authorities advised commuters, passenger, and light medium vehicles operators not to undertake journeys on National Highway during the night hours due to apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal sectors.
