The traffic authorities said that the slow movement of vehicles on the highway was observed due to the breakdown of four heavy vehicles and poor surface condition of the road at Dalwas and single-lane traffic at Cafeteria-Mehar, Magerkote, Nachlana between Nashri and Banihal tunnels.
SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban, Rohit Baskotra while updating the status of the road Saturday evening said that due to collusion between two heavy vehicles, vehicular traffic remained slow between Ramban and Bahihal.

Meanwhile, J&K Traffic Department issued a fresh advisory for Sunday stating that subject to fair weather and road clearance, LMVs and heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on both sides of the highway.

However passenger vehicle operators have been advised to prefer journeys on the highway only during the daytime as movement of nomads from Kashmir to Jammu might cause inconvenience to the commuters.

The commuters have also been advised to undertake journeys on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units (TCUs) in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban.
