Srinagar-Jammu highway to be restored fully for fruit-laden trucks: CM Omar after meeting with Nitin Gadkari
Srinagar, Sep 16: The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday informed that Srinagar-Jammu National Highway will be restored fully for fruit-laden trucks and uninterrupted supply of essentials.
He said the Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has convened a meeting today to review the restoration of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
He also reiterated government’s resolve to minimize hardships to commuters and farmers amid prevailing situation on NH44.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said: “On the initiative of the Chief Minister, the Hon’ble Minister for Road, Transport and Highways @nitin_gadkari convened a meeting today to review the restoration of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway”.
“The meeting deliberated on immediate steps required to fully restore NH-44 for the urgent movement of fruit-laden trucks and uninterrupted supply of essentials. The Chief Minister reiterated Government’s resolve to minimise hardships to commuters and farmers,” CM J&K added on X.
