Ramban, July 8: The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles, and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Srinagar on Monday.

Traffic authorities said traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of four heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog to Kishtwar Pathar areas between Nashri and Banihal sectors of National Highway.

Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations said National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles and one way traffic of Heavy vehicles for Kashmir.

They said heavy vehicles released from Jakhani, Udhampur are heading towards Kashmir in a regulated manner.

Meanwhile, traffic authorities said, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, light-medium vehicles carrying Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims would be allowed to ply on either side of NH-44 on Tuesday.

They said the cut off timing for Jammu bound light vehicles has been fixed 11-30 am, from Qaziqund, Kashmir on Tuesday.

The cut off timing for Srinagar bound vehicles was fixed from 7am to 12pm from Nagrota Jammu, 8am to 1pm from Jakhani Udhampur on Tuesday.

They said no vehicle would be allowed to ply after or before the cut off timings on Tuesday.
