Srinagar Cycling Championship concludes, young riders shine
Srinagar, Oct 30: The District Srinagar Cycling Championship 2025 concluded on Thursday at Duck Park, with Zamin and Arif Narwari clinching top honours in the senior ATB and senior MTB categories, respectively.
As per a statement, the event was organised by the District Srinagar Cycling Association in collaboration with the Cycling Association of J&K and the J&K Sports Council.
In the senior ATB category, Zamin clinched 1st position, Ali Reshi (2nd), and Zeeshan Nazir (3rd), while in senior Men MTB, Arif Narwari secured 1st position, Faizan Manzoor (2nd), and Naved Rehman (3rd).
In the Junior ATB category, Mohammed Adeel Bhat clinched 1st position, Amaan 2nd, and Shoib Shabir 3rd.
While in the Junior MTB category, Fariq Rafiq got 1st position, Suhaib Riyaz (2nd), and Mohammed Shoaib (3rd).
In the Sub-Junior Boys category, Zufishaan secured 1st position, Ayaan 2nd, and Archana Khan 3rd. In the MTB Girls category, Yumna Parveez secured 1st position, Muntaha 2nd, and Aleena Manzoor 3rd.
Riyaz Wani hailed the riders, saying, "We have a lot of talent in cycling sports and are committed to providing the right platform to the youth." Adil Teli, Guinness World Record Holder Cyclist, flagged off the event and shared his experience from a recent tour in Australia. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by prominent officials, including Riyaz Ahmad Wani, President of JKMBA; Bashir Ahmad Wani, President of the JK Sky Running Association; Faheem Ali, President of KMBA; Zahid Iqbal, water sports expert; and Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Vice President of the Cycling Association of JK.
