Srinagar, Apr 18:There are no traces of missing including a father-son duo and a 7-year-old child as the rescue mission to retrieve their bodies from river Jhelum remains fruitless for the third day.

On Tuesday morning, a boat capsized in Jhelum killing six-people even as three persons went missing in Srinagar;s Gandbal area.

The search operation, conducted by several teams including of police, SDRF, MARCOS, and army is extended from the incident spot to the Abdullah bridge in Rajbagh while some teams have been deputed near Vier in Chattabal too, news agency KNO reported.

On Thursday, the rush of people towards the grief stricken area continued, as people from different walks of life including religious clerics paid their respects to the bereaved families praying for dead and the missing.

Clerics from different sects including Sunni, Shia visited the area.

They included: Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi, Moulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, Aga Syed Hadi Kashmiri, and Moulana Fayaz Rizvi, among others.

Meanwhile in-view of inclement weather and intermittent rains, Srinagar administration on Thursday issued an advisory to the people, especially those living along the banks of river Jhelum and in Dal Lake.

The administration has advised people to refrain from venturing near water bodies while also limiting their activities until the weather improves.

Tourists, boatmen, sand miners, and individuals using boat crossing points for travel across Dal Lake and River Jhelum are cautioned against crossing before verifying the condition and situation of these water bodies.

For any information, the general public can contact the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Srinagar and Police Control Srinagar, it said.
