Srinagar, Aug 24: Director Sericulture J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, chaired the U.T Level Project Monitoring Committee meeting at the Directorate of Sericulture Dev. Department, Tulsi Bagh Srinagar today. The meeting saw active participation from Central Silk Board (CSB) members, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India representatives from New Delhi and Bengaluru, and senior Sericulture Department officials.

The meeting focused on reviewing the "Silk SAMAGRA" progress at the District level across Jammu & Kashmir. Discussions centred on achievements, challenges, and future strategies for comprehensive Sericulture Sector development under this flagship programme.

The committee deliberated on District-level requirements and challenges, identifying areas needing further Central Silk Board support. Appreciating the department's efforts in ongoing projects, the Director called for accelerated execution of pending tasks. He emphasized continuous monitoring and evaluation to meet Silk SAMAGRA objectives within stipulated timelines.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on enhancing collaboration between Central and U.T agencies to address emerging Sericulture Sector challenges and explore new avenues for sustainable industry development in Jammu & Kashmir.
