'Speed thrills but kills': CM Omar Abdullah saddened over loss of lives in Srinagar road accident
Srinagar, Nov 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday saddened over loss of precious lives in a tragic road accident occurred at Tengpora Bypass in Srinagar district yesterday.
Two youth died while another suffered critical injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in struck with a tipper on Thursday.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that though our cars get quicker, and roads better but simultaneously the road sense shows no sign of improvement.
“Heart breaking visuals. This accident claimed previous young lives & has had a devastating impact on their families. My heart goes out to the families of the boys killed in this tragic accident. May Allah grant them place in Jannat,” Omar Abdullah said on X.
The post added, “Our cars get quicker, our roads get better but our road sense shows no sign of improving. Speed thrills but it kills with no remorse. Traffic rules are there for a reason, they keep us safe but only if we follow them”.
The Srinagar district has witnessed increase in road accidents in past few months which left dozens of youngster dead and several others injured.
