Jammu, Nov 13: Special security drives are conducted periodically at various railway stations in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway to ensure passenger safety.

As part of this security initiative, a special security drive was conducted at Jammu Railway Station on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

This drive was conducted under the supervision of the Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police, dog squad, and officials from the Commercial Department.

As part of this security drive, Jammu Railway Station and the surrounding railway premises were thoroughly checked. Passenger luggage, platforms, and arriving and departing trains were checked using metal detectors and dog squads.

The waiting room, reservation counters, booking office, and parcel office were specially inspected.

As part of the security drive conducted at Jammu Railway Station, passengers were also informed about security precautions.

“The primary objective of this special security operation is to ensure normal rail traffic at the station, ensuring no inconvenience to passengers. Divisional officials have also instructed railway employees working at the station to exercise special caution while on duty,” said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Railway Division.

He said, “The passengers are urged to remain vigilant during their journey and not to touch any suspicious object, but to immediately inform security personnel and the railway helpline numbers 139 and 182.”
