Srinagar, Sep 8: The Special Crime Wing Srinagar (Crime Branch) on Sunday carried out searches at multiple locations in Ganderbal district in connection with an ongoing investigation into a murder case.

Officials said the searches were conducted at the residential houses of Mohammad Afzal Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, resident of Bonzila Haripora; Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, resident of Bonzila Haripora; and Wajid Rasool Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, resident of Haripora, Ganderbal.

The operation was carried out in pursuance of search warrants issued by the competent court, with the assistance of a Duty Magistrate and local police, officials added.

The case pertains to FIR No. 23/2024 under Section 302 of the IPC, initially registered at Police Station Ganderbal. The investigation was later transferred to the Special Crime Wing Srinagar by the Police Headquarters J&K.
