Speaker warns legislators over phone use during house proceedings
Srinagar, Nov 5: Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather Tuesday warned the legislators to refrain from using their mobile phones during the proceedings of the House.
The Speaker said that he had received reports that some legislators resort to shooting of videos during the proceedings in the house and warned them to refrain from such practice.
"I have received reports that some members of this house shoot videos during the proceedings of the house. This is unacceptable. I request every member to switch off their phones after they enter the house," he said.
The Speaker said that the chair had already asked the members to maintain the sanctity of the house and not force the Speaker to take any strict action against them.
"If I receive further complaints about the use of mobile phones during the proceedings of the house then, I will be forced to take action," he said.
The warning was issued while the members were speaking during the obituary session on the second day of the session.
