Speaker nominates members to Business Advisory Committee of J&K Assembly

Srinagar, Oct 18: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, on Saturday nominated eight Members of the House to the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) under Rule 317 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.

According to the notification issued from the Speaker’s office, the BAC will be chaired by the Speaker himself.

The nominated members include Leader of Opposition Sunil Kumar Sharma; Ali Mohammad Sagar; Mubarak Gul; Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami; Ghulam Ahmad Mir; Sajad Gani Lone; Mir Muhammad Fayaz and Choudhary Muhammad Akram.

The Business Advisory Committee plays a vital role in managing the legislative business of the Assembly.

It is responsible for scheduling discussions, deciding the time allocation for various bills and motions, and finalising the daily list of business to ensure the smooth and orderly functioning of the House.
