Speaker disallowed Sajad Lone’s resolutions on Article 370, Public Safety Act: People's Conference
Srinagar, April 07: Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather Monday disallowed resolutions on Article 370 and Public Safety Act (PSA) which were moved by People’s Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone, the People's Conference said today.
The party said that the Speaker disallowed both the resolutions as the Assembly session resumed in Jammu.
Sajad Lone had submitted a resolution seeking the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s pre-August 2019 status, and another one demanded bringing back prisoners booked under the PSA in various jails outside the Union Territory.
In February, before the Budget Session of the Assembly started, Sajad Gani Lone had submitted a resolution to the Assembly secretariat denouncing the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A.
Lone had said that the resolution brought by the National Conference-led government in the first session of the Assembly was ambiguous and did not reject the August 5, 2019, decisions, due to which he had brought a fresh resolution on the issue.
Last month, MLA Handwara expressed concern for not being informed about the rejection of his resolutions on Article 370 and the shifting of PSA detainees lodged in jails outside Jammu and Kashmir.
