South Kashmir parts receive fresh spell of snow
Anantnag, Jan 16: Parts of south Kashmir and Chenab valley on Thursday received yet another spell of snowfall.
The upper reaches of Anantnag received up to 8 inches of snow, while low-lying areas received couple of inches of snow.
In Anantnag, areas like Kokernag, Daksum, Verinag, Kapran, Pahalgam, and Qazigund recorded snowfall up to 8 inches so far.
High-altitude regions such as Sinthan Top and Margan Top along Kokernag-Kishtwar and Kokernag-Warwan-Marwa accumulated over 8 inches of snow.
Even Anantnag town has experienced an inch of snowfall so far.
Kulgam district, also received snowfall moderate to light snowfall. DH Pora, DK Marg, and Aharbal receiving moderate snow.
The twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama also received light snowfall. In Shopian, higher reaches such as Sedow, Dobijan, and Hirpora received snowfall. Similarly, upper areas of Pulwama, received snow.
Few inches of snow accumulated at the Peer Ki Gali along the historic Mughal Road.
Parts of Chenab valley including Banihal and Baderwah also received snow.
