Sopore, May 12: Scores of residents of Naseem Bagh M.E.T road Sopore have blamed the administration and municipal council Sopore for dumping heaps of garbage in their locality for the last six months causing immense hardship among the residents.

The aggrieved residents said that in the absence of bins, the municipal council has been dumping the waste on roads in their locality since last six months and foul smell emanating from these big heaps has made residents and commuters' lives miserable.

Khursheed Ahmad, a local resident, said that the concerned authorities have failed to lift the garbage from the roads of the locality.

The garbage heaps attract dogs and stray animals and are a threat to the health of residents, locals said.

A local resident Khursheed Ahmad said that "We have approached the concerned department so many times for lifting of garbage in our locality, but they gave no hearing to our pleas."

Meanwhile the local residents appealed to authorities for effective removal of the garbage so that people residing in this locality will not have to suffer.
