Sopore police organise awareness programme against drug abuse

Sopore, June 28: Sopore Police today organised a seminar-cum-debate programme against drug abuse and illicit trafficking at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore, in which students from Degree Colleges, Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools participated.

Participants highlighted the drug addiction scenario in the society and its various preventive measures and briefly threw light on the methods of de-addiction.

On the occasion SP Sopore Divya D sought the cooperation of people in eradicating the biggest social evil prevailing in the society. She also stated that Sopore Police is always available for helping the victims of drug abuse and is making all possible efforts to help and rehabilitate those affected persons.

She also stated that all efforts are being made to establish a "drug de-addiction/rehabilitation centre" at Sopore at the earliest. The participants were also rewarded at the end of the programme. DySP DAR Sopore was among those present on the occasion.
