Sopore Police destroy narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances worth over Rs 1 Cr
Srinagar, Dec 20: In a significant move to curb drug abuse, the District Drug Disposal Committee, led by SSP Sopore destroyed narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances valued over Rs. 1 crore.
This action was carried out in accordance with the orders of the special Court (NDPS) Baramulla.
Sopore Police as per news agency KINS said that the seized narcotic and psychotropic substances, which had been confiscated in 21 separate NDPS cases from various police stations within Sopore Police District, were destroyed by incineration at an approved facility in Lassipora, Pulwama. The destruction process adhered strictly to the legal requirements under the Rules, 2022, and was conducted under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
The consignment destroyed included 123.728 kg of poppy straw/powder, 2,811 bottles of Codeine Phosphate, and 28,316 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon, all of which were eliminated in compliance with the directions issued by the Hon’ble Special Court (NDPS) Baramulla.
