Sonamarg’s upper reaches receive season’s first snowfall, rains lash plains

Srinagar, Aug 28: While the plains of Kashmir witnessed rain, higher reaches in Sonamarg received the season’s first snowfall on Wednesday, bringing the mercury down.

The season's first snowfall was recorded at Sonamarg's famous trekking spots, including Vishansar and Nichnai.

Most parts of J&K including Srinagar received fresh rainfall today.

The fresh spell of rains and snow brought relief from the scorching heat and mercury plummeted at most places.

An independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif Keng said that a few other higher reaches are expected to receive fresh snowfall till tomorrow.
