Soft copies of textbooks will be uploaded on board website soon: BOSE
Srinagar, Dec 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Saturday said that the soft copy of the textbooks printed and published by the board would be soon made available for the students on the BOSE’s official website.
Talking to Greater Kashmir, Director Academics BOSE Sudhir Singh said that they would upload the soft copies of the textbooks on the official website of the board in the coming days.
The announcement comes amid apprehensions about the delay in the distribution of textbooks in schools post-winter vacation in March.
The J&K School Education Department (SED) Friday announced a phase-wise winter vacation for the schools from December 10.
Following the announcement of winter vacations, the entire focus has shifted towards the timely distribution of textbooks in schools by BOSE.
“While the orders for printing of the textbooks have already been placed, printing of some textbooks has already been done. We will also upload the soft copy (in a PDF format) of textbooks on our website in the coming days,” Singh said.
He said that the textbooks prescribed up to class 9th would be uploaded on the website in the coming days and textbooks of class 10th onward would be uploaded later.
“We will keep this facility available for the students till the printing of all textbooks gets completed,” Singh said.
The schools are scheduled to reopen from March 1, 2025, according to Singh, the BOSE is gearing up for the timely distribution of textbooks.
“During previous years, we used to place separate orders for printing of textbooks for the November session (in Kashmir) and March session (in Jammu). But during the last two years, we had to place the orders in bulk for both regions and a huge number of textbooks were to be printed simultaneously,” he said.
Singh said that this year they had already placed the order for printing of textbooks and there would be no delay in distribution as well.
