Society showing maturity, law enforcing agencies taking timely action: ADGP L&O

Srinagar, Nov 30: Praising the society for showing maturity and appreciating the law enforcing agencies for their timely action, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order (L&O) Vijay Kumar Thursday asked the officers to take full control of the situation and not allow nefarious designs to exploit the situation.

Officials said that chairing a high-level meeting here in the backdrop of events during the past two days, Kumar stressed upon all the enforcement agencies to identify real miscreants who had been spreading
rumours and take appropriate preventive legal actions so that the sanctity of law was fully maintained.

They said that the ADGP L&O also asked the intelligence agencies to keep a hawkeye view on the situation and identify the people with nefarious designs who were bent upon polluting the atmosphere of peace and
tranquillity.

Officials said that senior officers of the security agencies including Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Virdi Kumar Birdi attended the meeting held here at Police Control Room (PCR), Kashmir.

“To review the prevailing situation, ADGP L&O chaired a meeting of Police, CAPFs and Intelligence wings in PCR Kashmir,” officials said. “The ADGP was briefed by the officers about the chronology of the events during the past couple of days vis-à-vis handling of these issues as per the merits and law by the J&K Police.”
IG CRPF SOS and KOS, JD IB, IG BSF, DIG SSB, DDIB, DIG CKR, DIG CID, DIG Armed, COL GS, DC SB, DIGs NKR and SKR along with their counterpart CRPF DIGs attended the meeting virtually.
