Scores of civil society members, students and local residents in Pulwama took out a candle light march to deplore the attack. The march was led by Mudasir Dar, a prominent social activist from the area.

Dar said that they wanted to send out a clear message to the assailants that the people were against such barbaric acts. He said that they stood united and would not allow the divisive plans of those seeking to create rifts among communities to succeed.
