Snowfall likely to disrupt traffic on Zojila Pass

Ganderbal, Dec 16: Sonamarg health resort, Zojila Pass along the Srinagar-Leh highway, and the Drass area of Ladakh are likely to receive snowfall on Saturday night that would continue till Sunday forenoon, the Meteorological Department officials said.

The snowfall may disrupt traffic on the Zojila-Minamarg, Penzila, Khardungla, and Changla passes.

“It’s cloudy in the Sonmarg-Zojila-Kargil area and partly cloudy at rest of the places,” Director MeT Centre Leh, Sonam Lotus told Greater Kashmir. “Snowfall is likely at Sonmarg-Zojila-Drass during Saturday night and is likely to continue till Sunday forenoon.”

He said that the weather would remain dry from December 18 to 22 as there was no forecast of any major snowfall till December 23.
