Snowfall forecast | Health officials in Baramulla asked not to leave station without permission
Baramulla, Feb 17: The Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, has issued a circular directing all the Block Medical Officers of the district not to leave their station without seeking prior permission.
The circular has been issued following the recent advisory issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) that Kashmir division may receive moderate to heavy snowfall in the coming days.
“To meet any emergency situation that may arise due to heavy snowfall in Kashmir division in coming days, all the Block Medical Officers of the district are hereby directed not to leave their station without seeking prior permission from this office,” reads the circular issued by the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla.
The move has been initiated to ensure that the healthcare facilities across the district don’t get hampered if there is a heavy snowfall.
The officials of the health department have been further asked to remain in high state of readiness with regard to manpower, machinery and ambulances with anti-slippery chains to be kept on standby on roadside.
Besides, they have been instructed that sufficient stock of emergency supplies which include medicines are kept available at all the institutions of the district.
The patients of areas which are hard to reach shall be shifted to block headquarters to avoid any emergency in this regard,” reads the circular.
