Smashes & Speed: Ganderbal braces for exciting Ball Badminton Championship

Srinagar, Mar 13: Ganderbal is all set to host an action-packed District Ball Badminton Championship 2024-25 for Boys and Girls.

Organised by the District Bandipora Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association, the tournament, as per a release issued on Thursday, will be held at Siddiq Memorial Educational Institute (Ganderbal) from March 17 to March 18, 2025.

The championship aims to promote Ball Badminton in the region and provide young athletes with a platform to showcase their skills. The tournament will follow the official rules of the Ball Badminton Federation of India (BBFI) to ensure fair play and high-level competition.

The two-day event is sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, with the championship promising high-energy matches and a competitive atmosphere.

For entry and participation, it has asked all affiliated clubs, schools, colleges, and institutes in Ganderbal to be invited to participate. Interested players must submit their entries before March 17, 2025, via WhatsApp/SMS at 6005427657 (Organiser Secretary).

Participants have been asked are also required to bring a photocopy of their Aadhaar card and two passport-size photographs. It has further asked that on-spot entries will be accepted.

The draw for the matches will take place on March 17 at 11:00 AM at the competition venue.

With regard to the selection for the UT-Level Championship, the release states that a major highlight of the tournament is the selection of top-performing players who will represent Ganderbal at the upcoming UT-Level Ball Badminton Championship. This presents a valuable opportunity for young athletes to compete at higher levels. The organiser statement states that the District Ganderbal Ball Badminton Association is committed to promoting Ball Badminton among youth and ensuring a well-organised and competitive tournament.

Officials from the J&K Ball Badminton Association and J&K Sports Council will be present to oversee the event and encourage young talents.
