Slight increase in Kashmir night temperature

Srinagar records sub-zero temperate Shallow to moderate fog likely to continue till Nov 28

Srinagar, Nov 23: While Srinagar recorded sub-zero night temperatures, the minimum temperatures across Kashmir slightly improved on Thursday even as the Meteorological Department predicted cloudy weather conditions during the next 24 hours.
Srinagar recorded the season’s coldest temperature at minus 1.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and on Wednesday the summer capital witnessed another sub-zero night.

“Generally cloudy weather is expected with light rain and snow at isolated higher reaches in the next 24 hours,” the MeT officials said. “Generally dry weather is expected from November 24 to 26. From November 27 to 30, generally, cloudy weather with light rain and snow is expected at isolated higher reaches. From December 1 to 3, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected.”

They said that shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue till November 28 over many places of the Kashmir division.
“There was a slight increase in minimum temperature across Kashmir including Srinagar which recorded a low of minus 0.8 degrees Celsius against minus 1.8 degrees Celsius the previous night,” the MeT officials said. “The temperature was minus 0.9 degrees Celsius below normal for this time of the year in the capital city.”
They said that Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees Celsius above normal for the famed skiing resort.

The MeT officials said that Pahalgam in Anantnag recorded a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius against minus 3.3 degrees Celsius the previous night, 0.6 degrees Celsius above normal for the health resort.

They said that Kokernag health resort also in Anantnag recorded a minimum of 0.7 degrees Celsius, above normal for the place by around 0.1 degrees Celsius.

The MeT officials said that Qazigund in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius against minus 0.8 degrees Celsius the previous night, 0.5 degrees
Celsius below normal for the place. They said that Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degrees Celsius above normal.

The MeT officials said that Jammu recorded a minimum of 11.6 degrees Celsius, above normal by 0.1 degree Celsius.
