SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Forestry aligns course curriculum in accordance with NEP 2020
Srinagar, Nov 1: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir’s Faculty of Forestry convened its 7th Board of Studies and Faculty Meeting.
A statement said that Dean Faculty of Forestry, Prof SA Gangoo, who chaired both meetings, emphasised the paramount importance of regular course upgrades in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The meeting saw the presentation of agenda items by Prof Akhlaq Amin Wani, Member Secretary for the Board of Studies, and Prof PA Khan, Member Secretary for the Faculty Meeting.
Both meetings unanimously approved agenda items focusing on syllabus modifications, course inclusions, and the introduction of skill modules. These additions are aimed at meeting the dynamic demands of the market, ensuring students are equipped with relevant skills and knowledge.
"The new programmes will also feature entry and exit plans for certificate and diploma courses, enhancing the educational experience for students pursuing various forestry-related disciplines. The meeting boasted attendance from dedicated members of the Faculty of Forestry, alongside representatives from different faculties and divisions within SKUAST-K."
"There were threadbare discussions and recommendations before the agenda items were passed. This collaborative effort underscores SKUAST-K's commitment to delivering high-quality education that meets the evolving needs of society, as outlined in NEP 2020," the statement said.
