Srinagar, Jan 18: The 40th Annual Standing Evaluation Committee meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K to discuss the performance of new fungicides insecticides and HMOs evaluated by the University and also the finalisation of the spray schedule for apple orchards.

A statement said that the meeting was attended by the Director Research, Director Extension, Associate Director Research and heads of various Division and Programme Coordinators of different KVKs. Director Horticulture, Joint Director Horticulture, Chief Horticulture Officers, Plant Protection Officer and other representatives from the Directorate of Agriculture also attended the meeting. Vice-Chancellor in his remarks expressed that data generation is very important for coming up with real-time advisories.

He also suggested that the Management schedule to be devised for Apple orchards besides the spray schedule should also incorporate all the aspects of the Management of orchards.

He complimented the Officer of the Department of Horticulture and SKUAST-K scientists for working in a synergetic manner and achieving desired results in controlling various pests in orchards.

Vice-Chancellor asked all the scientists / Departments to come up with a complete Management schedule within a week.

Director Research also provided insight into the Standing Evaluation Committee meeting and instructed the concerned Divisions and Departments to come up with the desired information for the completion of the Management schedule within the stipulated time.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Director Extension, SKUAST-K to all participants.
