SKUAST-K trains rural women in agri-business skills
Srinagar, Oct 24: The Division of Agricultural Extension and Communication at SKUAST-Kashmir's Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, organised two MSME-sponsored training programs focusing on entrepreneurial empowerment of rural women through agricultural and horticultural processing.
The programmes trained participants in processing and value addition of farm produce, with hands-on sessions in preparing and preserving jams, jellies, and other products using modern equipment like pulpers and steam cookers.
Prof. Rihana Habib Kanth, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, emphasized agri-preneurship's role in generating employment and fostering economic independence among women. She highlighted how agricultural entrepreneurship boosts food production while creating innovative products and export opportunities.
