Srinagar, Aug 28: An Animal Health and Awareness programme was organised by KVK Ganderbal and the Division of Animal Breeding and Genetics (ABG), F.V.Sc & A.H, Shuhama at Anderwan, a tribal area in Ganderbal district. The programme is part of the ICAR campaign aimed at reaching disadvantaged populations within 100 days.

During the camp, tribal farmers received free veterinary medicines, including deworming agents, mineral mixtures, and antiseptic dressing kits for their livestock.

They were also educated on scientific methods of livestock rearing. Dr. Ishfaq Abidi, Chief Scientist & Head of KVK Ganderbal, provided an in-depth overview of the program and encouraged participants to stay connected with KVK to maximize the benefits available to them.

Dr. Syed Shahnaz Shafi, Head of the Division of AGB, highlighted the importance of conserving local cattle breeds. Dr Shaheen Farooq, Subject Matter Specialist at KVK Ganderbal, delivered a detailed lecture on the significance of periodic deworming and feeding management of dairy cattle. The participating farmers expressed their satisfaction with the camp and requested more such programs in the future.
