Srinagar, Apr 30:   SKUAST Kashmir under ambit of SKUAST K Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship centre conducted a one day workshop with FIIT, IIT Delhi on “Incubators' role in Fostering Innovation” in the main campus of the varsity to sensitize and mentor the young faculty members of the university towards the arena of innovations and start-ups.

A statement said that the event was chaired by Haroon R. Naik, Director Planning & Monitoring and Director Research, SKUAST-K along with Dr. Ashutosh Pastor, Sr. Manager and Head Incubation- FIIT, IIT Delhi, Dewansh Poddar, Programme Manager- FIIT, IIT Delhi, Dr. Azmat A Khan, OSD to VC SKUAST K, and Naveed Hamid, CEO SKIIE Centre SKUAST-K.

During the inaugural ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding between FIIT, IIT Delhi and SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship centre was signed by authorities to foster the culture of innovation, incubation and start-ups and bridge the gap between two incubators for larger interest of young minds and Innovators in both the regions.

The experts deliberated on topics like the ecosystem of Innovation and Incubation in India, Effective Grant writing techniques, funding opportunities, scientific writing, and conduct pre-feasibility and how to execute ideas and team building. This collaboration will undoubtedly foster a fertile ground for innovation and will provide professional growth opportunities for faculty, researchers, and students through joint programs, workshops and training. Later, a young Kashmiri InnovatorJawaad Khan who is the Founder of Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd spoke about his entrepreneurial journey on how he overcame challenges and made his mark in the corporate sector. He along with Ashutosh brainstormed with lot of participants, it said.
