SKUAST-K holds oath ceremony of scientists, teachers association

Srinagar, Sep 08: Newly elected SSTA executive members as well as councilors took oath at the “Shalimar Convention Centre”, Shalimar.

Prof Nazir A Ganai, attended the programme as chief guest in presence of Prof T H Masoodi, Registrar, Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi Director Extension / Education, Prof Haroon R Naik Director Research / Planning as guests of honour.

The programme was also attended by Deans and associate deans of faculties and colleges of varsity besides, scientists and teachers that have retired from the past two years, scientists and teachers from different faculties and colleges, research stations, centers, KVKs including the executive members of SKUAST-K .

At the outset Prof Nasir A Dar, Chief scientist and incumbent CEC, welcomed the participants and congratulated the SKUAST Kashmir scientists and teachers to re-affirm their faith in the democratic process of SSTA elections held on 30th July having more than 98 percent voter turnover. He also administered oath of allegiance to the SSTA constitution to the executive members of the incumbent SSTA 2024 including councilors from different faculties, colleges, research stations, centers and KVKs. Prof Javaid A Mugloo was elected as President, Dr Khursheed Ahmad Dar as vice President, Dr Aflaq Hamid as General secretary, Dr Tahir Mushtaq Joint Secretary, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Bhat Publicity Secretary and Dr Zaffar A. Badri as Treasurer.

Vice-chancellor in his remarks congratulated all the scientists and nonteaching staff of the varsity for putting up tireless efforts, enormous dedication, unlimited hard work for bringing laurels to the University at regional, national and international level. While highlighting the achievements, he complimented SSTA executive, its members, scientists and teachers and supporting staff for their exemplary teaching, research and innovations.
