SKIMS Soura, Save Heart Kashmir organise run for healthy heart
Srinagar, Sep 28: In the run-up to World Heart Day, and an effort to promote heart health, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, and Save Heart Kashmir organised a 5-km run along Foreshore Road at Nishat on Sunday.
The event drew over 200 participants from different walks of life.
The run was flagged off by the Director of SKIMS and Ex-Officio Secretary to the Government, Prof Ashraf Ganai. With the scenic backdrop, enthusiastic people ran to spread the message of prevention and healthy living.
“The initiative is meant to inspire our community to prioritise heart health with the habit of running,” organisers from Save Heart Kashmir said.
Many doctors participated in the event, including Dr Imran Hafiz from SKIMS, Dr Irfan Ahmad from SSH, and Dr Showkat Shah from Khyber.
“The event aimed to raise awareness about heart diseases and prevention, encouraging people to adopt healthy lifestyles and physical activity. It also provided a platform for the community to come together and learn about heart health, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and lifestyle changes for preventing heart-related problems,” Dr Showkat said.
