SKIMS Soura celebrates Doctors' Day
Srinagar, July 1: Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) marked a poignant celebration of Doctor's Day today, under the resonant theme "Healing Hands, Caring Heart". This year's event not only highlighted the compassion and dedication intrinsic to medical professionals but also underscored their pivotal role in providing comfort and care to patients
Director SKIMS Prof M Ashraf Ganie remarked, that Doctors' Day "serves as a poignant reminder to honor the selfless dedication and immense contributions of medical professionals." He underscored SKIMS' global impact in medical research and education, highlighting the institution's role in advancing healthcare worldwide.
Chief Guest Professor Habibullah Zargar, former Principal of GMC Srinagar, commended the profound contributions of medical professionals. Guest of Honor Professor Nilofar Khan, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, reiterated her commitment to supporting SKIMS in its endeavors. Former Directors including Prof. M.S Khroo, Prof. O J Shah were also present on the occasion and hailed the role of SKIMS in particular and medical professionals in general in the arena of medical sciences across the world. All distinguished guests endorsed Prof. Ganie's leadership, affirming his capability to elevate SKIMS onto the global stage.
Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS, Prof Shariq A. Masoodi congratulated the organising committee for the event and praised the medical professionals for their incredible work.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Prof. Farooq A Jan & Prof. G. H Yatoo, Head, Hospital Administration & organising Secretary of the event spoke passionately about the essence of Doctor's Day, emphasizing its significance in honoring the tireless efforts and immense sacrifices of medical professionals. They thanked all the healthcare professionals for their services.
The event was organised by the Department of Hospital Administration SKIMS. Director SKIMS congratulated the organised Chairman Dr. G. Hassan Yatoo for successfully conducting the event.
