SKIMS conducts awareness programme on World Health Day
Srinagar, Apr 6: In commemoration of World Health Day 2024, a programme was conducted by the Department of Community Medicine SKIMS at Hajin, a field practice area of the department.
A statement of SKIMS issued here said that the programme focused on the imperative need to enhance healthcare systems in alignment with this year's theme, ‘My Health, My Right.’
The event commenced with an opening address by the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Hajin, who highlighted the importance of this year's theme.
Additional Professor of Community Medicine at SKIMS, Javid Ahmad in his address underscored the importance of fortifying the primary healthcare system within the block, emphasising actionable strategies.
Doctors from the Department of Community Medicine (Social and Preventive Medicine), SKIMS, delivered a comprehensive presentation, elucidating the nuances of this year's theme and its relevance, captivating the audience with simplified explanations.
Concluding the event, Dr Fahd Bukhari, a third-year Postgraduate of the Department of Community Medicine in his presentation emphasised the imperative nature of implementing various national health programmes at the grassroots level, ensuring the fulfilment of primary healthcare essentials.
The department's significant contributions to the block were also shared with the audience.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, followed by the distribution of informative handouts related to the event among the participants, fostering greater awareness and understanding.
