SKIMS conducts awareness cum management camp on NCD in Naranag

Srinagar, Jun 23: In the backdrop of month-long activities about World Hypertension Day, SKIMS Soura organised a multidisciplinary NCD health camp in the tribal area of Naranag, Kangan, on Monday.

A statement of SKIMS issued here said that this comprehensive NCD care camp was a collaborative effort of the Department of Community Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology and Endocrinology.

The diverse activities covered under the camp included awareness cum sensitisation, screening, and consultations.

Besides, free medicines were distributed among the needy. The camp was a huge success as around 200 patients, both adults and pediatric age group, were screened and attended to by the specialists from the said disciplines.

Many new cases of hypertension and diabetes mellitus were detected during the screening and treatment was initiated for the same.

The statement said that as a part of our community outreach, SKIMS, Soura, is committed to reaching out to the vulnerable population of the community, and such a health camp is a reflection of the same.
