Ganderbal, Nov 4: The Design Innovation Centre (DIC) at the Central University of Kashmir signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate of Employment, District Employment & Counseling Centre (DE&CC), Ganderbal, to launch a skill training programme titled "Front Office Associate."

This collaboration aims to empower eligible candidates in the Ganderbal district with essential skills for the services industry, particularly in the tourism sector.

Under this MoU, the Directorate of Employment will be responsible for mobilising eligible candidates through public notices, managing the application process, and maintaining all relevant documentation.

The DIC, in turn, will provide infrastructure, qualified instructors, and a comprehensive training module. The course will also include guest lecturers from industry experts to enhance trainees’ understanding of the current job market.

The three-month skill course will provide successful participants with certificates from the DIC, validating their new competencies. The initiative includes financial support, such as a budget for course fees and stipends for trainees with 90 percent attendance.

Addressing the participants, DIC Director Prof Fayaz Ahmad Nikka stated that the MoU marks the beginning of a long partnership with DE&CC, with potential extensions by mutual consent, aimed at contributing to skill development and employability in the region. Assistant Director of Employment, DE&CC, Beenish Wani, was also present on the occasion.
