Six injured, toddler critical after vehicle rolls down into gorge in Banihal
Banihal, July 26: Six people, including three children, were injured after a Tata Mobile vehicle rolled down a deep gorge at Doba Thachi on the Banihal side on Saturday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the injured comprised three children, their parents, and another adult traveling in the vehicle. Two ambulances, including a critical care unit, rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to SDH Banihal for preliminary treatment.
“One child, around two years old, was critically injured and non-responsive. After initial trauma management, all the injured were referred to GMC Anantnag for specialized medical examination and treatment,” an official said.
Except for the critically injured toddler, all the other passengers were reported to be out of danger. The critically injured child was shifted to GMC Anantnag in a critical care ambulance, officials added.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started.
