SIU Kulgam produces chargesheet against 4 terrorists

Srinagar, Apr 22:  The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam produced a chargesheet against four terrorists on Monday.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that the chargesheet was produced in case FIR No 65/2022 of Police Station Kulgam before the Court of Special Judge (designated court under NIA) Kulgam against three killed terrorists and an active terrorist.

It said that the chargesheet was produced against four accused terrorists Jan Muhammad Lone, son of Abdul Rashid of Braripora Shopian; Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool of Chaki Cholend Shopian; Sameer Ahmad Sheikh alias Kamran Bhai, son of Farooq Ahmad of Chaki Cholend Shopian; and Abid Ramzan Sheikh, son of Muhammad Ramzan of Chotipora, Shopian.

The statement said that on June 2, 2022, the terrorists of the proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, The Resistance Front, and Al-Badr hatched a conspiracy and killed a branch manager of Ellaqhai Dehati Bank, Arreh Kulgam, Vijay Kumar, son of Om Prakash of Bagwa Rajasthan at Arreh with their illegal acquired weapons. It said that a case had been registered at Police Station Kulgam.

The statement said that the SIU Kulgam produced a chargesheet before the NIA Court Kulgam in the instant case FIR No 65/2022 under Section 452, 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 7/27 of the I A Act, 16, 18, 20, and 38 of the UA (P) Act of Police Station Kulgam against three killed terrorists Jan Muhammad Lone, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, and Sameer Ahmad Sheikh regarding whom the court was prayed to take cognisance as abeted and under Section 299 CrPC against the accused active terrorist Abid Ramzan Sheikh.

It said that further investigation about the involvement of another accused Arjumand Gulzar alias Hamza Burhan, son of Gulzar Ahmad Dar of Kharbatpora Ratnipora, Pulwama, who is an active terrorist of proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr and is absconding would continue under Section 173 (8) of CrPC and would be submitted in the form of a supplementary report before the court.
