Sikh youth conference organised in Srinagar
Srinagar, Dec 24: Jammu and Kashmir Youth Empowerment Society (YES) organised the first Sikh youth conference today at Tagore Hall Srinagar.
The theme of the conference was martyrdom and sacrifices for exploring the legacy of Chamkaur Sahib and Saka Sirhind .
Many Sikh youth intellectuals and scholars from Kashmir Valley participated in the programme where they read their papers and expressed their views on the topic.
While talking to the media, President JK YES Amitpal Singh said, "On behalf of the organising team, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our speakers, attendees, and contributors. May the light of these teachings illuminate our paths and inspire generations to come”.
Organising Secretary Tejveer Singh said, “The legacy of martyrdom in Sikhism is a reminder of the power of self-sacrifice in creating a better world. It teaches us to rise above fear, to serve without expectation, and to uphold justice and compassion at all costs. Let us honour this legacy not just in remembrance, but in action, embodying the spirit of Shahadat in our daily lives”.
Dr Chintanjeet Kour , Child activist and Gurdeep Singh Sikh Scholar were presiding chair during the conference .
Treasure JK YES Ajeetpal Singh , Sikh youth leader Sardar Angad Singh , Sikh Scholar Gurdeep Singh and other dignitaries also attended the conference.
