Sigma Summit 2025: A big push for green energy in India

New Delhi, Apr 5: The Sigma Summit 2025 brought together leaders, environmentalists, and policymakers who all share one goal: to help India switch to clean, green energy. As climate change becomes a growing concern and the need for sustainable solutions rises, the event sent a strong message: India can lead the world in using renewable energy. The day began with speeches that showed how green energy can change lives. Speakers talked about how using solar, wind, and water power can cut down pollution, slow down climate change, and create millions of new jobs.

They said it’s not just about saving the planet — it’s also about building a stronger economy and healthier future.

One of the powerful presentations came when Firdous Baba, head of the Kashmir Sewa Sangh, gave his speech. He said, “Green energy is not a luxury — it’s the key to a better India.” He spoke about protecting Kashmir’s natural beauty, saving the glaciers, and making sure future generations enjoy clean air and water. The audience responded with loud applause. Baba explained that green energy is especially important for places like Kashmir, where nature is both beautiful and vulnerable.

For them, it’s not just about energy, it’s about survival and respect for the land. He also spoke directly to the youth, encouraging them to dream big: “Picture an India where every rooftop has solar panels, hills have wind turbines, and electric cars fill the streets. This is the future you can build.”

Throughout the day, experts shared ideas on how India can move away from coal and oil. They discussed how solar panels, wind farms, and hydroelectric power can make energy cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable. They also highlighted how this shift could spark new inventions, support eco-friendly startups, and boost India’s global image. Baba closed the event with a call to action: “Let’s bring solar lights to every village, clean power to every school, and green energy to every factory. India can be the world’s greenest nation.”
