Srinagar, Jan 4: The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir, Thursday seized 6 kanal land belonging to two terror accused.

The Police Station SIA Kashmir executed warrants issued by the Special UAPA Court, Srinagar, in connection with the narco-terror financing case (FIR No 19/2022 under Sections 13, 17, 18, 39, and 40 of the UA P Act under Sections 120-B, 121, and 121-A IPC, and 8/21, 8-A/27B, and 29 of the NDPS Act.

The warrants, issued under Section 83 CrPC and dated December 22, 2023, facilitated the attachment of immovable properties.

The properties include 1 kanal 6.5 Sirsai falling under Khewat No 9 and 19 situated in Estate Larkipora Awantipora, registered to Abdul Rashid Bhat, son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat of Larkipora Padgampora, Awantipora.

Additionally, 5 kanal land falling under survey Nos 1463 and 1458, Khewat No 144, Khata No 244 situated in Estate Amargarh Sopore, registered to Abdul Rashid Mir, son of Muhammad Sultan Mir of Amargarh Sopore have also been seized.

Both persons, now declared proclaimed offenders, have been evading arrest for the past year.

The investigation agency has initiated proceedings for the attachment of their movable and immovable properties before the Special Court.

In this case, SIA has arrested seven accused persons, including one who surrendered before the Special Court.

Six of them have already been chargesheeted before the Special Court.

Of the remaining five absconding accused, including the two individuals whose properties had been attached, all have been declared as proclaimed offenders.

The SIA said that some of them were currently based in Pakistan.

The execution of warrants was successfully carried out with the cooperation and support of officials from various departments, including Revenue Magistrates, Transport, and local Police.
