Shutloo residents demand macadamisation of road
Baramulla, June 9: The residents of Rohama and Shutloo in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have expressed concern over the dilapidated road condition of over two kms road stretch from Tarbal to Shutloo.
The locals said that the road condition has deteriorated and potholes have emerged all along the road making the travel of commuters difficult.
The residents said that the macadamisation of the road stretch from Rohama to Shutloo was initiated a year back. Hhowever, beyond the Tarbal area, the macadamisation work was abandoned without any reason.
“Despite our repeated pleas to initiate the macadamisation work on the left out road, the concerned authorities showed no interest. Major population of the area are subjected to the inconvenience following the bad condition of the road,” said Muhammad Ashraf Bhat of village Shutloo.
Another concerned resident said that several families from the Rohama village have shifted to the village outskirts in the Tarbal village. However, with the deteriorating road condition, the people here are facing severe hardships.
They have urged the concerned authorities to initiate the work on the road stretch immediately so that people of the area are benefitted.
