Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra on new track remains suspended

Jammu, Jun 24: New Himkoti track, leading to the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi nestled in Trikuta hills in Katra of Reasi district, remained closed and Yatra remained suspended through this route for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

However, the Yatra continued through the old route without any interruption.

Authorities on Monday i.e., June 23, 2025 had closed Himkoti track after it was blocked by landslides, triggered by heavy rains, near Satya view point along the route.

The route was temporarily closed for safety reasons and battery car service was suspended. For clearance of slide debris, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) had pressed men and machinery. Work was underway.

Meanwhile, the chopper service from Katra to Sanjhi Chhat too remained suspended due to foggy weather conditions.
