Shoppers save big in GST during Amazon Festival

Srinagar, Oct 1: As part of the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival, the #GSTBachatUtsav storefront enabled sellers to pass on over `100 crore in GST savings across appliances, fashion, daily essentials, and other categories. The festival also showcased Amazon. in’s delivery efficiency, with 40% of orders placed in the first 24 hours delivered the same or next day nationwide. Within three days, customers from all serviceable PIN codes placed orders, bringing festive celebrations to households across Bharat.

Saurabh Srivastava, Vice President, Amazon India, said the platform supported sellers in smoothly transitioning to new GST rates from September 22 through tools, automatic tax code updates, and masterclasses. “We have enabled sellers to pass on over `100 crore in GST benefits to customers. Shoppers can continue saving alongside festival deals as the event runs until Diwali,” he added.

Highlighting the response to appliances, Gufran Alam, VP and Head of Digital Appliances, Samsung, said the Bespoke AI portfolio accounted for half of all Samsung appliances sold on Amazon. Popular items included Side-by-Side refrigerators, front-load washing machines, and WindFree air conditioners, with Samsung’s Side-by-Side refrigerator ranking among the top 10 best-sellers.

Nipun Maurya, CEO, iQOO India, noted the brand’s strong performance in the first 48 hours of the festival, reflecting consumer trust in performance-driven devices.

The early trends from the festival reveal that GST savings, affordability, and fast delivery are influencing customer choices across categories, from large appliances and essentials to premium fashion, beauty, and wellness products, enabling shoppers across Bharat to upgrade their lifestyles while embracing value-driven purchases.
