Ganderbal, Oct 2: Shopkeepers and traders at Tawheed Chowk market in Ganderbal district observed a shutdown on Monday to protest the lack of basic facilities in the market area. All shopkeepers and traders in Tawheed Chowk closed their businesses in response to the absence of essential services, including drainage, regular power supply, and street lights.

The aggrieved traders complained that the authorities had consistently failed to address these issues, particularly the need for a facelift for the market, installation of street lights, and improvements to the poor drainage system. They further expressed that “no serious attention has been paid to these issues, as well as the roads and drains in the market, which continue to remain in the same condition.”
