Shopkeeper found dead in Gharkote Uri

Baramulla, Jan 10: A shopkeeper in the Gharkote area of Uri, in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, was found dead in his shop on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Hameed Shah, 60, a resident of Gharkote, Uri.

An official stated that locals in the village found Shah hanging inside his shop and immediately informed the local police.

Body of the deceased was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the police in Uri have taken cognizance of the incident and registered an FIR. "The autopsy of the deceased has been conducted at SDH Uri. We have registered a case and initiated further investigation," said the official.
