Shopian police register FIR against Facebook page for promoting separatist ideology

Shopian, Nov 12: Shopian Police have registered an FIR after taking cognizance of a viral video circulated on social media through a Facebook page titled “Voice of Humanity”, in which a speech was delivered promoting separatist sentiments and activities aimed at disturbing peace and public order.

According to officials, a case under FIR No. 109/2025 has been registered at Police Station Zainapora, and investigation has been initiated to identify the individuals involved in the circulation and creation of the content.

Police said such online activities pose a serious threat to communal harmony and public tranquillity, and any attempt to misuse social media platforms for spreading divisive narratives will invite strict legal consequences.

Reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace and public order, Shopian Police stated that firm legal action will continue against anyone found involved in promoting or encouraging content detrimental to societal harmony. (KNT)
