"Over the past few months, several incidents have been reported where the HT line has fallen onto the LT line, resulting in power surges and electrical fluctuations", said Mubashir Ahmad, a resident. "These occurrences have led to the malfunctioning of electronic devices in numerous households, including television sets and refrigerators", Ahmad said.

Macadamisation of Kanipora road sought

A battered road in Kanipora locality, barely half a kilometre from the main market is causing immense hardships to the residents. The road, according to the residents, has not been macadamised for the past few years.

"The road is dotted by numerous pot holes and it becomes extremely difficult for the residents to walk along the road", said the residents.   They said that the street leads to numerous apple orchards and during the harvesting season load carriers  ply on it to transport the produce.

"However, the dilapidated condition of the street could result in fatal accidents", said the residents.  They said that despite their repeated pleas to the authorities for the macadamisation of the road, no action has been taken so far.

"The R & B Department has macadamised almost every link road in the area, but this road has been left again", they said.  An R&B official said that they would look into it.
